2021 Mazda3 Hatchback: Built for an Active Lifestyle
Explore the Open Road with the Hatchback Sedan
If there’s one thing that Mazda enthusiasts and hatchback fans have in common, it’s the joy of having a vehicle that stands out from the crowd.
The 2021 Mazda3 hatchback effortlessly combines exhilarating performance with head-turning exterior and innovative safety technology.
Take a look at what’s in store for the new model year and see what makes the hatchback ideal for active lifestyles.
Technology Found in the 2021 Mazda3 Hatchback
Equipped with an 8.8-inch infotainment center, the screen stands front and center thanks to a bezel design and pillow-like dash pads.
Drivers can easily control the infotainment center by using the console-mounted rotary knob.
To ensure you’re connected to your favorite music, podcasts, and contacts, the 2021 Mazda3 hatchback comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Hatchback Cargo Space
The 2021 hatchback offers seating for five, but that doesn’t mean it compromises on comfort or cargo space.
Alongside the driver, the front passenger enjoys 38 inches of headroom, 55.7 inches of shoulder room, and 42.3 inches of legroom.
Second row passengers can enjoy the drive with 37.3 inches of headroom, 53.5 inches of shoulder room, and 35.1 inches of legroom.
The second row also comes with the 60/40 split option allowing you to customize your cargo space.
With the seats in the upright position, the car offers 20 cubic feet of cargo space.
The cargo space increases to 47 cubic feet with the back row of seats folded.
Mazda ensured to incorporate more than enough space for all of your gear to hit the open road.
Mountain bike enthusiasts need to put this hatchback on their list of must-test drive vehicles. With the seats folded and front wheel taken off, the Mazda3 hatchback can fit two mountain bikes.
Vehicle Performance
Thanks to the G-Vectoring Control Plus and 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine, the hatchback from Mazda is rated to provide 186 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 186 pounds-per-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm.
That doesn’t mean more time at the pump as the SKYACTIV cylinder-deactivation technology increases fuel efficiency.
Mazda’s cylinder-deactivation helps the hatchback conserve fuel and reduce emissions by temporarily stopping a single engine cylinder when necessary.
Standard Safety Features That are More Than Standard
Whether you’re running errands or taking a weekend trip, Mazda wants to help keep you safe during each mile.
And thanks to the i-Activsense safety features there’s a variety of safety features found throughout the car.
The 2021 Mazda3 hatchback includes high beam control, Driver Attention Alert, Lane-Keep Assist, Mazda Radar Cruise Control with stop and go function, Smart Brake Support, and blind spot monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.
Additionally, the hatchback has also been equipped with rain-sensing windshield wipers.
With the wiper lever in the Auto position, the sensors can detect rainfall on the windshield and turn the wipers on or off automatically when the rain stops.
The sensitivity can be adjusted by turning the switch of the wiper lever.
Mazda drivers don’t have to worry about manually turning on their windshield wipers during a sudden storm or other rainfall.
